A vicious editorial in the DomPost - how to say someone is guilty without saying they are guilty!

The guy is a dickh..d. He didn't bother to analyse the evidence, he disregarded that David spent 13 years in prison under the weight of a miscarriage of justice and was later acquitted by a fully informed jury. He compared David's case to two incomparable cases just to prove that he doesn't know what he's writing about.
He's a patronising jerk. David doesn't need advice from a reporter. David knows he's innocent and has proven it to the world. He's also told the world that he's a fighter, so this dickh..d reporter should crawl back down his rat's hole. Maybe explain why his paper never reported the blood in the rifle barrel or the spatter on Robin's shoe going the wrong way if it had come from his own wound and where he got his law degree from. A bloody idiot in white socks.
Perhaps the Dom post is trying to prop up Fairfax's defamation case by printing such information, and then using the resulting 'sway' of public opinion to justify their allowing defamatory comments to remain on Fairfax's trademe site?
ReplyDeleteCongrats Nostalgia, over 2400 unique visitors, the good news is spreading, keep it up!

ReplyDeletePossible. But misguided if they think it can have any real effect because what is defamatory comment isn't decided by public opinion.
Additionally I think they're likely to want to settle, probably having enjoined the posters as a preliminary step
In terms of the TM board, I think we'll see it brought into line this year. If only because it is transparent that TM have hosted the hate-site personnel and thereby facilitated the hate-sites stalking and defamation - not a good look at all.
