There are indications that they internalising their 'work.' I'm happy to respect their right to go about their own business in private, it's the public stalking, lies and deliberate persecution that have caused me to object. Ultimately the choice is theirs to decide whether or not a public 'war' of words and exposure is of any benefit to them. One test will be the errant idiots like Stockdale, Taylor, Fox and Membery peddling their crap on TM, hopelessly out of their depth and repetitive to the point of embarrasment. The world doesn't need daily weather reports from a stupid old stalking coot, followed by his laboured subjects that no one would bother reading twice.
I'm certainly at this stage unwilling to stop my progress against a number of people who've done personal things against me or my family, but I see those as individual decisions not associated with the sites should the sites do as they are now suggesting.
In the mean time a message for one reader here: there is always an opportunity to talk and that opportunity is important during litigation when anger or pig-headedness can rule. I think you know your situation is perilous, extending it out will not improve it, shortening it should be very attractive to you despite that you must have already accepted there is a cost for that, a cost which will be considerably less financially and personally for you to reach a settlement. You know the venues through which you can do that, but additionally, as having been a critic of you, I think you may realise my ambition has been to stop behaviour toward a number of people therefore if I can be of any help in facilitating progress you could contact me here with a view to having a chat toward moving on.
Kent Parker's actions over recent months show that in reality he knows that his sites have been out of line. He has cleaned them up on several occasions, removed some of the material defamatory of Joe Karam, restricted public access and developed a set of guidelines (although those guidelines are not enforced, so they are mere lip service).
ReplyDeleteSo to persist with defending the defamation is absurd. He and Purkiss are bound to lose because of the very public nature of the defamation, and the very obvious effect. Martyrdom is all very well, but what is the point of being seen to be a martyr by a tiny number of people while the public at large will just see them as ridiculous cranks who didn't know when to stop? Time they did a cost/benefit analysis. Time to man up, admit they were wrong, and apologise. It won't come cheap, but it will be a damn sight cheaper than pursuing this in court. And less exposed to public ridicule.
Whether Mr Karam, who has been so harmed by all this, would be willing to settle remains to be seen - the publicity of a court case might be necessary to go some way to restoring his reputation. Any settlement should, in my opinion, require public retraction and apology, at the very least.
I think you are correct that Mr Karam may feel that a public Court Case is needed to restore his reputation and that's his decision remembering also that there are two seperate cases, the second being against TM.
ReplyDeleteIt's my view that Kent Parker should take the bull by the horns and consider an apology first before endeavouring to settle. I say that because I believe he is effectively without a defence, to recognise that would be important in allowing himself to be extricated from the situation in the shortest possible time.
One could argue that the apology would undermine the defence should the case go ahead and that would be true. However, it's equally true that you can't forfiet something that effectively doesn't exist anyway. So far better to be pragmatic rather that search for 'magic' solutions that don't exist.
Denise Cameron -I have stopped posting on tm, mainly because I have been banned permanently.
ReplyDeleteOn the JFRB facebook site this morning. What a stupid remark.
the hate sites are turning inwards on themselves before imploding. RIP dummies.
ReplyDeleteVery silly, but nobody would notice over there. It would sound perfectly reasonable.
ReplyDeleteI know abroad there is an idea that I can't or don't post on TM and that is somehow a problem for me. This from the same people that see me around every corner, running a number of blogs and posting from overseas. They're a laugh a minute.
I note in dispatches that I'm apparently 'contrite' in the post above and my contrition is extrapolated as being because the defamation case is weak. Well, I'm sure that's what the weak-minded might think and no doubt time will tell.
Meanwhile handicapped Mike is justifying why he posts on TM in a ridiculous fashion which totally overlooks that he's failed in every attempt to stop before, always blaming somebody else. But what an ally to have, when you (Parker) expresses a view of how the connection to TM might be explored in the court case Stockdale totally ignores that and justifies his reasons. He and Kent deserve one another, the welcher and narcissist.
Looking through some of the cached material at Kent's vow that he wouldn't be spending an hour in the Court with Karam and Reed. Sure.
My post above was in response to the comment by anonymous about DCameron.
ReplyDeleteIn reply to smashie: yes I like the way they try to demonstrate their disaster as a victory. First of all shut down their site, now generate another 'safe' site. Well, I suppose if you're the panicky type - that would make sense and morons would all note their heads in unison of the remarkable event.
This shows that Parker has already had the advice he never wanted...But he puts his own twist on it and cites 'republication' as removing the liability of the writer or the original publisher. Sorry Kent, you'll need to do better than that. And I suspect it won't (as you clearly hope) stop the flow of material that is so damaging to your defence. Toughen up big boy.
ReplyDeleteKent Parker
Meanwhile mini-Nos is publishing content which she copied from FB sometime ago for which she probably does not realise she takes full responsibility and not the people who originally posted it.
