Iain Clegg, not quite in the same footsteps as Bruce Emery.

The following from a correspondent....

Iain Clegg was last June convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to

eight years' jail with a minimum of four years, while Skinner was

found guilty of murder and sentenced to at least 15 years' jail.

Clegg appealed to the Court of Appeal, lawyer Graeme Newell, QC,

saying he was not directly responsible for Mr Wilkinson's death and

that none of the injuries he inflicted was life-threatening.

The court stated:

"Any reason there may have initially been to challenge the police

officers' presence on Mr Skinner's property could not have justified

their pursuit outside the property and for some 200m".

Isnt that exactly what Bruce Emery did in the death of the young tagger..

pursued the tagger from his fence down the road

He only received 4 years and was out in 1 on home detention..

Hypocracy once again

  1. I can't understand why Wilkinson and his mate decided to run that night. Wilkinson would be alive today if he had simply stood his ground and stated he was police. My belief is that the only reason they did make a run for it was because they KNEW that what they were doing was illegal. i.e. trespassing and planting surveillance equipment illegally. I believe the police also knew that they were trespassing onto private land and planting surveillance equipment on Tuhoe land also. Are our police so stupid that they did not know that what they were doing was illegal?

On the subject of David Bain I am looking for the photo of Robin Bain lying next to the bean bag where the police claim they found him. That photo I understand was taken some 2 hours or so after the police had secured the property and had time the adjust things before letting the forensic people into the house. The internal urethral sphincter relaxes after death, as I understand it, and allows urine to exit the bladder. Robin's bladder was full apparently but there appeared to be no urine stain in Mr Bains trousers in that photo. Do you have a link to that photo?

  2. They were covert operatives and acted accordingly.
There was no need to chase them, they were not escaping with anything except a warning they were fast passed hearing.
I published the correspondence above because of the way it highlighted what seems like a discrepancy in the way Clegg was dealt with as a party to murder, in comparison with Emery.

I've seen the photo and it was certainly after death, as was the autopsy that collected the urine from the body.

  3. You say you have seen that photo do you have a copy and is there an sigh of water on Robin's trousers? At Robin's age and IF his bladder had been full there would have been leakage and that would be obvious considering the photo was taken some 2 or so hours after police arrived and before rigor mortis had set in which occurs about six hours after death. Robin in that photo, from memory, appears to have been dressed after death so that would explain why there is no urine stain. Can you help me with this and direct me to a link where I can view that photo?

  4. There is no urine stain visible on his pants. The photo is in Joe Karam's book. As for urine release after death: it can be minimal leakage and tends to happen more once the body is moved.
