The only person who did lie was David Bain.He lied on oath when he took the stand and said he didn't know how that pair of his mother's glasses came to be in his room,that he hadn't thought about them,that he hadn't seen them for over a year.

Stockdale keeps repeating this same lie because it is all he has. Unfortunately he is too stupid to realise that when David was shown the broken glasses he told the truth. That particular pair of glasses he hadn't seen for a year. His mother, however, had other pairs of glasses. One pair which David used sometimes when he had to.
ReplyDeleteStupid Stockdale, forgets the state of the house, the fact the Bain family never threw anything away, the fact Margaret Bain was photographed in more than two pairs of glasses, etc etc. He hangs on to the evidence of one broken pair of glasses perhaps because they are significant, as a representation of the sad broken person he has become. Useless and discarded, a piece of clutter so forgotten about, no one has even bothered to throw him away.
