According to the officer interviewed, NZ Police receive more training than their NSW counterparts, have sufficient and adequate access to firearms, would be generally uncomfortable in being seen to being armed, and that the particular recent tragedies which have given rise to public concern for the safety of Police would not have been avoided if Police officers were routinely armed.
