If you think he did you are welcome to point out where. There is only extremely tenuous evidence he wasn't alone on the yacht, and when that evidence is looked at closely it is full of holes. I am completely convinced he is innocent.Nostalgia-NZhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17048029433699816931noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4909488748140942076.post-91177904178846376442017-06-13T15:30:22.694+12:002017-06-13T15:30:22.694+12:00Watsaon lied big time to the police, he tried to s...Watsaon lied big time to the police, he tried to score that night didn't and when an attractive young woman got on his boat, things just got out of hand driven by a full day of drugs and alchohol. I say in retrospect because since the trial many key points of the Crown case have evaporated at worst, or remain unbalanced when compared to new evidence - in particular that of eye witnesses. This sort of things can't be randomly thrown in doubt and then be held not to matter to the soundness of a conviction. While the safety of the conviction in this case was ultimately damaged by what we know was absolute uncertainty of eye witness evidence at the trial it's the Court process, and that of exercise the Royal Prerogative of Mercy that leave the situation incomplete and of concern to the public. Watson needs a retrial, not because he is Watson but because of the doubts surrounding direct evidence in the first trial, the incomplete analysis of the hairs claimed to be those of Olivia found on a blanket and so it goes on. The longer this case is held back by a systematic process out of touch with public interest the more concerns will deepen. Cases like this don't go away. History tells us that. At the least Watson needs a new trial, one benefitted from forensic advances from the time of his conviction. That he is now held in prison because he won't admit his guilt is a madness in these modern times of Justice.Nostalgia-NZhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17048029433699816931noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4909488748140942076.post-25934653457852261232015-11-26T21:36:05.159+13:002015-11-26T21:36:05.159+13:00My brother watched the sloop taken from the water ...My brother watched the sloop taken from the water in Waikawa. I happened to be talking on the phone to him, he was a boat broker in the nearby office. This is odd, they are lifting a sloop but they were looking for a ketch he said. After attending the trial he remains certain to this day they got the right man, but he is wrong. These cases are beset by cognitive dissonance and belief in authority. I hope my brother does not read this.Samsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04163383074949695927noreply@blogger.com
